Our vows
Dear friends and family,
We are gathered here today to celebrate the union of Andrés Cabán Jr. and Vlada Eliseeva in marriage. With love and commitment, they have decided to live their lives together as husband and wife. True marriage begins well before the wedding day, and the efforts of marriage continue well beyond the ceremony. A brief moment and the stroke of a pen are all that is required to create the legal bond, but it takes love, commitment, and compromise to make a marriage durable and everlasting. Today you choose each other before your family and friends, to continue your life together.
Please turn to each other.
Do you, Andrés, take Vlada as your wife, offering her your love and encouragement, your trust and respect, as together you create your future?
[Andrés: “I do”]
Do you, Vlada, take Andrés as your husband, offering him your love and encouragement, your trust and respect, as together you create your future?
[Vlada: “I do”]
You may now express your love in your own words.
Andrés: Today I promise you this.
Vlada: Today I promise you this.
Andrés: I take you as you are, loving who you are now and who you are yet to become.
Vlada: I promise to listen to you and learn from you, to support you and accept your support.
Andrés: I will laugh with you in times of joy, and comfort you in times of sorrow.
Vlada: I will share in your dreams and support you as you strive to achieve your goals.
Andrés: I will celebrate your triumphs and mourn your losses as if they were my own.
Vlada: I will love you and have faith in your love for me, through all our years, and all that life may bring us.
Andrés: I will listen to you with compassion and understanding, and speak to you with encouragement.
Vlada: I will respect you as a person, a partner, and an equal.
Andrés: I will love you faithfully.
Vlada: I will love you faithfully.
To commemorate this union you may now exchange rings.

[Andrés: “With this ring, I thee wed”]
[Vlada: “With this ring, I thee wed”]
Let these rings remind you of your love and commitment to one another.
By the power vested in me, by the state of New York, I now pronounce you husband and wife.
You may now kiss!
It’s my pleasure to present to you, for the first time, Mr. and Mrs. Cabán!
Never date a co-worker. Some companies even have policies against it. I later found out mine did, thankfully it all worked out. You can't help where you meet someone. Well, you can try, but isn't it always in the unexpected moments, in the surprise situations, where someone special catches your eye, that beat out planned dates or Tinder hook-ups? Take hold of those moments, even if you must do so in secret [wink].
